Looking for fun hand Building pottery session in Sydney? This hand building workshop is perfect for you if you have never played with clay before or used Japanese rice paper transfers. No drawing or painting experience is necessary.
We will be hand building a large tray with handles or a platter that will be functional, imagine crabs and prawns in this gorgeous tray, use it for serving drinks, it’s totally up to you how you may want to use it.

6 Week Play with Clay Hand-building Course : $535
This is a wonderful Play-with-Clay Beginners’s course for those who want a little more than just one piece.
You will be guided for 3 hours a week, for 6 continuous weeks in stepped instructions creating 4 to 5 different pieces, using 3 different techniques for each week.
Week 1 to 4 , you will making and creating (costs include firings)
Week 5 and 6 you will be decorating and glazing all your pieces.
This course incorporates creating your functional and decorative pieces, then Ceramic Art Painting and Brush and Bubble Techniques with Underglaze used to paint your creations. Leave them with us and we will fire your creations.
You will get to choose from some of our glazes we have available as Normal stock pile to finish for your creations ( The glazes that we have not got in our normal stock pile of specialty glaze, you will need to pay extra for the 60ml containers of specialty glazes $13- $15 per jar.)
The course includes clay, tools, firings, Underglazes, some specialised Amaco glazes and clear glazes in 6 tutor-guided lessons step by step.
Cost is all inclusive clay firings , and clear glazes in 3 hour sessions for 6 weeks $534

We are offering these one-off workshops in 3 hour guided workshops. All Clay is included, 2 firings and glazing is done by us. Once you finish with the workshop please allow up to 3 to 4 weeks for the completed piece to be picked up from our studio.
It's time to create your own hand-built clay pieces of pottery you can use as functional pieces. Grab your group ,perfect for Private Hens or Birthday workshops, bring your drinks, we can offer up to 10 - 16 people in the studio at a time.
Minimum spend applies
1 Day Workshop:
You will create a bowl, a mug or a planter from a lump of clay. We will fire them after clay has dried up completely and then glaze.
Cost starting at $85 per person
If you wish to have your creations painted,
we can arrange it to be painted at
an extra cost $12 for the underglaze paint
before we fire them.

At Tennyson Studio we let the children design and create whatever they desire on their pieces which are prechosen before the day by party parents.
All pieces can go into the dishwasher, the microwave, and the oven. All pieces will be boxed up and picked up 10 to 12 days later as we will need to glaze and fire them.
